It is now law that every organisation that is involved in the collection, use, transmission, storage and otherwise processing of personal data complies with the provisions of the Data Protection Act No3 of 2021. The Data Protection Act of 2021 is a unique piece of legislation. Unlike most laws applicable to organisations and are confined to legal departments in terms of understanding and application, the Data Protection Act of 2021 requires that all members of staff from top management to the last employee in the organisation hierarchy understands various provisions of the Act relevant to their work. The law does not give room for any excuse for non-compliance.
