The Zambian Data Protection Act of 2021 requires every organisation that collects and processes personal data to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Although further guidelines are yet to be issued regarding which category of organisations will be expected to have mandatory appointment of a DPO, it is advisable and best practice for any organisation, big or small, to have DPO services, whether internal or external, in order to enhance its compliance to data protection laws. Given that Data Protection practice is relatively new in Zambia, there are very few experts in this field that are able to provide expert advice or services to organisations wishing to embark on the compliance journey. Fortunately, Silham Consulting and Training Services recognized this gap in this field and has built capacity over the last few years with internationally recognized qualifications in privacy and data protection practice, with well-developed tools to help organisations meet their compliance requirements to the Act. To help organisations have a head start in compliance to the Data Protection Act, Silham Consulting and Training Services provides an Outsourced Data Protection Officer Services.
